This Time Around…

If you haven’t eaten at, “Hatsuhana’s”, in the Hilton Hawaiian Village, you’re probably missing out on the best chicken katsu and chicken karage, ever. Yesterday, Ayva and I decided to try their dinner menu and I was so incredibly impressed. We would often walk past it and look in the window, but never made an effort to eat there. However, I just decided to follow my intuition and took Ayva to Hatsuhana.

All of their meal’s can be eaten ala carte, or as a set. The set comes with miso soup, rice, green salad and seaweed. The chicken katsu and karage portions were HUGE. I could not finish mine, even though I really wanted to. We arrived around 5:30pm, so it wasn’t very busy yet. They open at 5pm for dinner. Our service was fast, efficient and smooth, which is always greatly appreciated.

They have a sushi menu as well and based on all the sushi platters we passed along the way to our table, their sushi looked amazing. It was probably about 12 hefty pieices per roll and I debated ordering a sushi appetizer for both of us, but had a feeling we would have too much food. I was absolutely right. Our entree’s were already so filling, I couldn’t imagine having had sushi along with it. Next time, though, we will probably just order a variety of sushi’s and enjoy that.

I love dinner’s with my daughter. We have some of the best conversation’s and whenever we’re in an environment with food, we both lean towards appreciating every aspect of our experience. We have conversation’s about how good the food is or, even the service. The best part about our conversation’s are the one’s that are directed towards our goals. This trip, she told me, “Mom, it’s because of you I have big dreams.” and that seemed to be the theme of our time together.

The day I arrived, she said, “Mom, I have big dreams just like you.” and she continued to explain her ideas of creating her own theater show. One of her goal’s, is to create a theater program for people her age. She feel’s it would be really fun for her. It seems she likes the idea of gathering people together, organizing a play and performing for others. It’s always been something she would mention here and there, but she finally started making lists. Oddly enough, she got in touch with someone who has a theater space for her to rent for rehearsal’s and classes that she thought to put together. We even found different theater’s around Oahu, that she could rent to put her program together and perform for the public.

It’s wonderful how opportunities present themselves when you confidently align with your desires.

We talked alot about the entire trip and I did my best to ask the question’s that would help her make more specific decision’s in how she want’s to move forward. I feel it is always fun to visualize and imagine become excited about future possibilities. She reminds me so much of myself. I have always had a large imagination and I am only now understanding how valuable it is, and that I have the capacity to bring those dreams out of my imagination and into the physical world. Knowing that Ayva is embracing her own ability to imagine, dream and manifest, it is making me feel more connected to my own dreams. As a mother, I feel I have a responsibility to set the example of what following your dreams look like. It is igniting a fire within me. I realize now, that in following my dreams, she is inspired to follow her own. It is aligning me with the bravery I need to trust myself fully, live more intuitively, to be my true self, and to stop caring about what other people think of me. If not for me, at least for her, you know?

In the end, I told her, “I will follow through on my dreams and goals, if you follow through with yours. We will keep eachother accountable.” She agreed.

Here’s to having the courage to align with our dreams and, take action towards them.

Stay tuned.
